Friday, March 17th, saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.909, slightly above Thursday’s closing price of $2.902. Climbing higher out of the gate to reach above $2.940, the market quickly tried to reverse Thursday’s losses. Tumbling lower in the subsequent thirty minutes, prices mounted another ascent from the $2.91 mark which persisted through midday. Seesawing along $2.940, April grew modestly to record the intraday high of $2.961 ahead of 2:30PM before closing higher on Friday at $2.948.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 76 cents; Natural Gas was down three cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and, Gasoline was down one cent. Additionally, cash prices were lower in New York and New England.
