August NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.306 on Tuesday, July 16th

Tuesday July 16th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at 2.322, eight cents below Monday’s closing price of $2.408.  Now in the wake of Hurricane Barry making landfall, Natural Gas prices continued to move lower on Tuesday. Reports revealed little infrastructure damage to drilling rigs, meaning activity would quickly return to normal.  Prices steadied after reaching the intra-day low of $2.298 at 12:30PM.  August closed lower on Tuesday at $2.306.

As of 8:55AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 6 cents; Natural Gas was down one cent; Heating Oil was up 2 cents; and Gasoline was up 2 cents.
