th – settlement day for the July Contract – saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $3.559, six cents above Friday’s closing price of $3.496. Marking an intraday low of $3.554 soon after the opening bell, the contract posted a staggered ascent throughout the day to reach a fresh multi-year intraday high of $3.631 at 12:30PM. The July contract settled higher on Monday at $3.617.
The more actively traded August contract posted a similar path throughout the day to record an intraday high of $3.629 at midday. August closed higher on Monday at $3.593.
As of 7:30AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 53 cents; Natural Gas was up five cents; Heating Oil was down slightly; and Gasoline was up slightly.
