November NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.615 on Monday, October 5th

Monday, October 5th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.539, ten cents above Friday’s closing price of $2.438.  Ascending from the intraday low of $2.528 within minutes of 9:00AM, prices surged higher throughout the morning. Tallying an intraday high of $2.727 at 11:30AM, this latest climb was supported by the prospect of another stimulus package and the formation of two tropical storms in the Gulf of Mexico.  Tumbling lower into the afternoon, November closed higher on Monday at $2.615.

As of 8:30AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $1.02; Natural Gas was up five cents; Heating Oil was up three cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
