Monday, October 18th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $5.166, twenty-four cents below Friday’s closing price of $5.410. Gapping lower over the weekend, prices tallied to an intraday high of $5.240 at 11:00AM before posting a steep decline. Slipping through the afternoon to record a three-week intraday low of $4.962 at 2:20PM, bearish weather forecasts have taken their toll. November closed lower on Monday at $4.989.
As of 6:35AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 93 cents; Natural Gas was down five cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was unchanged.
