August NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.734 on Monday, July 27th

Monday, July 27th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at an intraday high of $1.783, 2 cents below Friday’s closing price of $1.808. Prices fell steadily to an intraday low of $1.714 at 11:20AM. Trading along either side of $1.745 for the balance of the day, traders are keeping an eye on two tropical storms that have formed in the Gulf of Mexico. The August contract closed lower on Monday at $1.734, about 7 cents below Friday’s closing price.

As of 9:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 40 cents; Natural Gas was up 6 cents cents; Heating Oil was down 1 cent; and Gasoline was down 1 cent.
