Tuesday, July 6th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $3.668, three cents below Friday’s closing price of $3.700. Following a pre-session rally, where prices tested the $3.80 level, the contract declined until reaching an intraday low of $3.608 at 11:00AM. As temperatures remain elevated for much of the country and tropical storm Elsa may prove to be a non-event, August traded along either side of $3.635 for the remainder of the day, closing lower at $3.637.
Please note the NYMEX trading floor was closed on Monday July 5, in observance of Independence Day.
As of 5:55AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $1.22; Natural Gas was up six cents; Heating Oil was up four cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
