August NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts Closed at $2.924 on Friday, June 29th

Friday, June 29th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.915, more than two cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.940.  In defiance of the expected above-average forecasted temperatures and storage levels that continue to sit nearly 20% below the five-year average, the contract posted a rather inactive session on Friday notwithstanding a jump to the intraday high of $2.943.  Fluctuating along the $2.92 mark for the majority of the day, August closed lower on Friday at $2.924.

This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 15 cents; Natural Gas was down six cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and, Gasoline was down two cents.
