PORTSMOUTH, NH<\/strong> \u2013 August 18, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Sprague Operating Resources LLC <\/a>(Sprague) today announced its partnership with Hyperfuels to supply and distribute Purfuels\u00ae Ethanol Free 93-Octane, an oxygenated reformulated gasoline (RFG), across the Northeast.  <\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cIt has been 49 years since a new gasoline was introduced in the United States, but I was not at all surprised when Sprague wanted to be the first to offer this unique high-octane ethanol-free gasoline in the Northeast,\u201d stated Jess Hewitt, Hyperfuels President.\u202f \u201cSprague has always been a first mover when it comes to renewable energy and sustainable fuel innovations.\u201d\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

RFG is gasoline that has been specially blended to burn more cleanly than conventional gasoline. It\u2019s designed to reduce smog-forming compounds and harmful air toxins. Additionally, ethanol-free gasoline provides significant benefits for boats, race cars, motorcycles, classic cars, and power sports vehicles, as well as equipment such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, and generators. By removing ethanol, this fuel helps prevent moisture absorption and phase separation, which in turn protects fuel systems and enhances performance. The Purfuels ethanol-free gasoline replaces ethanol with Isobutanol \u2014 a colorless, alcohol-based fuel additive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sprague\u2019s first delivery was to Moriches Boat and Motor on the south shore of Long Island. “We’re thrilled to be the first to offer ethanol-free fuel in our area, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of Sprague,” said Conrad Kreuter, owner of the East Moriches Marina. “Our customers have been asking for this, and we’re excited to provide them with high-quality fuel that will help protect their boats for years to come.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n

RFG is required in many metropolitan areas. Under the federal Clean Air Act, the EPA mandates that RFG be sold in metropolitan areas with the highest smog levels to help reduce air pollution. Purfuels\u00ae Ethanol Free 93-Octane delivers performance and protection while meeting EPA RFG requirements, making it the first legally approved ethanol-free fuel option for marinas in the New York metro market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
