rd saw the February NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $3.519, nearly thirty-five cents above Friday’s closing price of $3.174. Recording the intraday high of $3.540 within minutes of the open, the latest forecasts are showing a frigid end to the month and possibly bleeding into early February. Posting a staggered descent from this high, prices slipped through the morning hours to tally the intraday low of $3.243 at 11:45AM. Mounting a recovery into the afternoon, February closed higher on Monday at $3.447.
As of 8:10AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 46 cents; Natural Gas was up eight cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline was down slightly.
