March NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.677 on Monday, January 30th

Monday, January 30th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.676, seventeen cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.849. Losing ground over the weekend, updated forecasts reduced the duration of polar conditions arriving later this week as bulls are running  out of winter. Climbing to an intraday high of $2.773 at 11:20AM, the contract withdrew for the balance of the day to record the lowest intraday mark ($2.661) since April 2021. March closed lower on Monday at $2.677.

As of 7:30AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 78 cents; Natural Gas was down five cents; Heating Oil was down three cents; and Gasoline was down two cents.
