October NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $4.377 on Tuesday, August 31st

Tuesday, August 31st saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $4.255, five cents below Monday’s closing price of $4.305. Marking the intraday low of $4.248 soon after the opening bell, prices began a staggered ascent before surging to the upside at 11:00AM.  Tallying a fresh multi-year intraday high of $4.417 at 11:10AM, traders are weighing the impact of Hurricane Ida against cooling weather forecasts.  October closed higher on Tuesday at $4.377.
 
As of 6:35AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was unchanged; Natural Gas was up seven cents; Heating Oil was unchanged; and Gasoline down one cent.
