April NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.602 on Monday, March 23rd

Monday, March 23rd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.583, two cents below Friday’s closing price of $1.604.  Trading within two cents of $1.595 throughout the morning hours as markets sough direction with the possibility of an approved stimulus package, prices crossed midday at $1.587.  Falling to an intraday low of $1.574 minute later, the contract ascended into the afternoon to record an intraday high of $1.628 at 2:00PM.  April finished nearly flat on Monday at $1.602.

As of 7:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 90 cents; Natural Gas was up three cents; Heating Oil was up four cents; and Gasoline was up four cents.
