August NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.932 on Wednesday, July 29th

Wednesday, July 29th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at an intraday low price of $1.847, 5 cents above Tuesday’s closing price of $1.798. Prices spent most of the day climbing be-fore reaching their intraday high of $1.937 at 2:20PM. A few minutes later prices closed slightly lower at $1.932.

The EIA Natural Gas Storage Report is due out at 10:30AM today. The report is expected to show a 24 BCF injection to storage for the week ended July 24th. This compares to a 65 BCF injection at this time last year and a five-year average injection amount of 34 BCF.

As of 9:25AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down $1.02; Natural Gas was down 3 cents; Heating Oil was down 3 cents; and Gasoline was down 3 cents.
