February NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.753 on Tuesday, January 12th

Tuesday, January 12th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.880, thirteen cents above Monday’s closing price of $2.747.  Ascending to a near six-week intraday high of $2.899 soon after the opening bell, the contract trader along either side of $2.850 heading into midday.  Losing momentum in the session’s final thirty minutes, the contract fell to an intraday low of $2.745 at 2:20PM.  February closed higher on Tuesday at $2.753.

As of 7:00AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 20 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up one cent.
