July NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.782 on Friday, June 5th

Friday, June 5th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.858, three cents above Thursday’s closing price of $1.822.  Ascending to an intraday high of $1.864 within minutes of the opening bell, the contract quickly trended lower to cross $1.820 by 10:30AM and $1.790 by midday.  Hovering along either side of $1.790 throughout the afternoon, prices fell to an intraday low of $1.777 at 2:20PM as July closed lower on Friday at $1.782; down nearly 4% on the week.

As of 8:15AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 36 cents; Natural Gas was down one cent; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up one cent.
