July NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.664 on Monday, June 22nd

Monday, June 22nd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.696, three cents above Friday’s closing price of $1.669.  Dropping nearly three cents by 9:30AM, the contract plodded higher to reach an intraday high of $1.712 just ahead of midday.  Per the EIA, last week saw natural gas consumption drop by 7.1%, while natural gas consumed for power declined by 15.6% compared to the previous week. 

Sloping downward until reaching the intraday low of $1.643 at 2:00PM, July closed lower on Monday at $1.664.
As of 7:40AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 83 cents; Natural Gas was down one cent; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
