June NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.720 on Tuesday, May 12th

Tuesday, May 12th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.777, five cents below Monday’s closing price of $1.826.  Climbing to an intraday high of $1.801 by 9:40AM, the contract soon trended lower to settle in near $1.760 at 11:00AM.  Updated forecasts are calling for above average temperatures in the short term as prices fell to a two-week intraday low of $1.713 ahead of closing.  The June contract closed lower on Tuesday at $1.720.

As of 7:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up eight cents; Natural Gas was down one cent; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was down two cents.
