June NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $8.744 on Monday, May 23rd

Monday, May 23rd saw the June NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $7.931, fifteen cents below Friday’s closing price of $8.083. Marking the intraday low of $7.889 within minutes of the open, prices rose confidently through the duration of the morning to cross $8.350 by 10:30AM and $8.490 by midday. Spurred on by the latest production concerns, the contract tallied a near three-week intraday high of $8.757 ahead of 2:30PM. June closed higher on Monday at $8.744; up 8% on the day.
 
As of 6:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 29 cents; Natural Gas was up 14 cents; Heating Oil was up four cents; and Gasoline was down nine cents.
