Monday, April 13th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.805, seven cents above Thursday’s closing price of $1.733.  Following a long weekend, as markets were closed Friday in observance of Good Friday, prices tallied an intraday high of $1.808 soon after the opening bell before trending lower.  With expectations that prices could rise following news of an OPEC deal that will cut oil production, the contract faded as the morning drew on to cross midday at $1.712.  Trading along either side of $1.705 for the majority of the afternoon, May closed lower on Monday at $1.724.
