May NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $6.669 on Monday, April 25th

Monday, April 25th saw the May NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $6.550, two cents above Friday’s closing price of $6.534. Slipping to the intraday low of $6.470 by 9:25AM, yesterday’s session saw a lower degree of volatility in comparison to the past week. Trading within a tight band near $6.625 from 10:00AM into the late afternoon, buyers then entered the market as production concerns provided support. Reaching the intraday high of $6.697 at 1:10PM, May closed higher on Monday at $6.669. The June contract closed fourteen cents higher at $6.805.

As of 6:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up nine cents; Natural Gas was up 25 cents; Heating Oil was up nine cents; and Gasoline was up slightly.
