November NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.352 on Friday, October 4th

Friday, October 4th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.283, nearly five cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.329.  Slipping to an intraday low of $2.263 by 9:10AM, markets then surged higher as the contract had become oversold.  Surpassing $2.300 by 9:30AM, prices surged to an intraday high of $2.398 at 11:30AM in an attempt to reclaim the week’s losses.  Stepping lower into the afternoon as the rally subsided, November closed higher on Friday at $2.352, down 2% on the week.

As of 9:00AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 66 cents; Natural Gas was down four cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up slightly.
