November NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.303 on Monday, October 7th

Monday, October 7th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.307, nearly five cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.352.  Failing to follow through with Friday’s rally, prices fell to an intraday low of $2.291 soon after markets opened.  Finding support soon thereafter, the contract then mounted multiple ascents to reach $2.330 by 10:10AM and an intraday high of $2.342 at 12:20PM, as updated forecasts for the arrival cooler temperatures by the end of the month provided support.  Trailing lower in the final thirty minutes of the day, November closed lower on Monday at $2.303.

As of 8:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 69 cents; Natural Gas was down three cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and Gasoline was down two cents.
