October NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.527 on Monday, September 23rd

Monday, September 23rd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.510, about two cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.534.  Continuing to use the $2.50 mark as a major support level, prices fell to an intraday low of $2.500 at 9:10AM only to then mount a staggered ascent that would span the morning hours.  Peaking at an intraday high of $2.547 at 12:30PM amid forecasts for weakening short-term demand, October closed slightly lower on Monday at $2.527.

As of 8:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 63 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and Gasoline was down two cents.
