October NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.503 on Tuesday, September 23rd

Tuesday, September 23rd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.541, roughly a penny above Monday’s closing price of $2.527.  Reaching upward to tally the intraday high of $2.552 by 9:10AM, prices then dropped to the $2.530 level and traded sideways through midday.  Testing the $2.50 mark throughout the afternoon, the contract touched the intraday low of $2.500 at 12:30PM and fought off selling pressure to close lower on Tuesday at $2.503.

As of 8:40AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 98 cents; Natural Gas was down two cents; Heating Oil was down three cents; and Gasoline was down three cents.
