October NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $5.706 on Monday, September 27th

Monday, September 27th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $5.456, nearly thirty-two cents above Friday’s closing price of $5.140. Marking the intraday low of $5.416 by 9:10AM, it was off to the races as prices surpassed $5.570 at 11:30AM and continued upward into the afternoon. Spurred on by last week’s rally following the bullish storage injection and recently diminished contract, the contract rose to a fresh seven and half year intraday high of $5.712 ahead of closing.  October finished higher on Monday at $5.706. The more actively traded November contract closed higher as well at $5.731, up 53 cents on the day.
 
As of 5:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 83 cents; Natural Gas was up 43 cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up one cent.
