October NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.285 on Friday, August 30th

Friday, August 30th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.267, three cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.296.  Falling to an intraday low of $2.257 within minutes of the opening bell, prices rose in the following forty minutes to reach an intraday high of $2.299.  Stepping lower to trade within a two-cent range along either side of $2.280 for the balance of the day, traders were pricing in the impacts of Hurricane Dorian along with shifting weather expectations.  October closed lower on Friday at $2.285.

As of 8:30AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down $1.28; Natural Gas was up three cents; Heating Oil was down four cents; and Gasoline was down six cents.
