September NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $3.897 on Wednesday, August 25th

Wednesday, August 25th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $3.905, a penny above Tuesday’s closing price of $3.896. Posting a steady climb to start the day, reaching an intraday high of $3.991 by 10:40AM, fundamentals remain unchanged from the previous session as was evident as prices pulled back heading into the afternoon. Marking an intraday low of $3.876 at 1:10PM, September closed nearly flat on Wednesday at $3.897.

The EIA Natural Gas Storage Report is due out on Thursday at 10:30AM. The report is expected to show a 37 BCF injection to storage for the week ended August 20th.  This compares to a 45 BCF injection at this time last year and a five-year average injection amount of 44 BCF.

As of 6:00AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 53 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline down two cents.
