Thursday, July 30th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.889, 4 cents below Wednesday’s closing price of $1.937. Prices quickly jumped to an intraday high of $1.905 at 9:10AM. After reaching the daily high, prices began a measured and consistent descent towards their intraday low of $1.818 at 2:00PM, before finally closing at $1.833.
As of 9:00AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 33 cents; Natural Gas was up 2 cents; Heating Oil was up 1 cent; and Gasoline was down 1 cent.
New York and New England basis values were higher for all seasons. Additionally, cash prices were down in New York and New England.
