September NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.193 on Tuesday, August 4th

Tuesday, August 4th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.073, three cents below Monday’s closing price of $2.101.  Climbing from an intraday low of $2.066, the current rally is underpinned by weather forecasts calling for extended heat in August.  Additional support is being provided by an expected pickup in LNG exports.  Ascending to a seven-month intraday high of $2.198 at midday, the September contract closed higher on Tuesday at $2.193.

As of 6:35AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was $1.07; Natural Gas was up five cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
