Tuesday, January 5th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.682, ten cents above Monday’s closing price of $2.581. Following overnight gains, as the possibility for coolers temperatures entered the forecast, the contract traded along either side of $2.700 for the majority of the day. Opening at the day’s low and reaching an intraday high of $2.732 at 11:15AM, the February contract closed higher on Tuesday at $2.702.
As of 7:00AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up nine cents; Natural Gas was down eight cents; Heating Oil was up slightly; and Gasoline was up slightly.
