February NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts Closed at $3.185 on Friday, January 19th

Friday, January 19th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $3.167, two cents below Thursday’s closing price of $3.189.  Stumbling to the intraday low of $3.157 out of the gate, the contract proceeded to trace a staggered ascent past the $3.20 mark at 11:00AM.  Reaching the intraday high of $3.246 thirty minutes later, prices were unable to sustain this growth, lacking fundamental support, and stepped lower into the afternoon as February closed nearly flat on Friday at $3.185.

This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was unchanged; Natural Gas was up four cents; Heating Oil was down slightly; and, Gasoline was up one cent.
