February NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts Closed at $3.200 on Friday, January 11th

Friday, January 11th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $3.141, six cents above Thursday’s closing price of $3.084.  Tumbling down in the first hour of trading, the intraday low of $3.070 was marked at 9:20AM. Regaining four cents by 11:00AM, the contract then gave way to an afternoon rally. Prices topped out at the intraday high of $3.224 at 1:20PM, the highest figure we have seen in three months. Up 40.5 cents on the week, February closed higher on Friday at $3.200.

This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up three cents; Natural Gas was down six cents; Heating Oil down slightly; and, Gasoline was down slightly.
