Monday, May 7th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.745, three cents above Friday’s closing price of $2.711. Finding value in the recently diminished market, a bout of buying drove the contract to the intraday high of $2.769 soon after markets opened. Plotting a gradually downward course from there prices fell to the intraday low of $2.730 by 2:00PM, as short-term weather forecasts remain bearish. June closed higher on Monday at $2.741.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 62 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and, Gasoline was down one cent.
