Monday, February 22nd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.940, thirteen cents below Friday’s closing price of $3.069. Trending lower to settle-in near $2.900 shortly after 10:00AM, marking an intraday low of $2.889 at 11:50AM, prices then rose into the afternoon. With uncertainty surrounding short-term forecasts, updated reports are now calling for frigid temperatures to return in early March. Ascending to an intraday high of $2.967 at 2:20PM, March closed lower on Monday at $2.953.
As of 6:40AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 50 cents; Natural Gas was down three cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up one cent.
