Tuesday, April 27th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.824, two cents below Monday’s closing price of 2.790. Tallying an intraday low of $2.814 soon after the opening bell, prices rose throughout the day to achieve an intraday high of $2.876 ahead of closing. Shrugging off bearish forecasts, pipeline maintenance drove gains for both the May and June contracts. May closed higher on Tuesday at $2.873. The June contract forged a similar path, climbing to mark an intraday high of $2.948 just after midday, closing higher at $2.942.
As of 7:00AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 23 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was up slightly; and Gasoline was up slightly.
