Monday, August 12th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.123, just below Friday’s closing price of $2.128. Soon after open, prices spiked to hit an intraday high of $2.157 within minutes of 9:00AM. Following the spike, prices gradually fell between 9:00AM and 12:00PM, and hit an intraday low of $2.095 at 12:00pm. Throughout the remainder of the day, prices traded evenly and closed at $2.105, just below Friday’s closing price of $2.121.
As of 8:55 EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 45 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline was unchanged cents.
