July NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.186 on Friday, June 21st

Friday, June 21st saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.199, nearly even to Thursday’s closing price of $2.185.  With an absence of any updates to short-term weather forecasts, the previous session’s largely bearish storage report was still on traders’ minds as prices fell to an intraday low of $2.181 by 9:20AM.  Fluctuating along $2.195 throughout the morning, the contract rose to an intraday high of $2.214 ahead of midday.  Tracking lower into the afternoon, July finished nearly 8% lower on the week at $2.186.

As of 8:55AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 50 cents; Natural Gas was up five cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up three cents.
