Tuesday, June 1st saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $3.068, eight cents above Friday’s closing price of $2.986. Tallying the intraday low of $3.064 early on, prices jumped past the $3.100 level and ascended to a more than three month intraday high $3.150 by 10:10AM. Pulling back from this rally, the contract traded along either side of $3.110 for the balance of the day as forecasts for above average temperatures have held steady. July closed higher on Tuesday at $3.104.
As of 6:30AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 69 cents; Natural Gas was down two cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
