June NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.948 on Tuesday, April 28th

Tuesday, April 28th – settlement day for the May Contract – saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.888, seven cents above Monday’s closing price of $1.819.  In a light day of trading, the contract trended lower throughout the day.  Crossing midday at $1.830, the May contract settled lower on Tuesday at $1.794.  The June contract opened at $1.997, eight cents above Monday’s closing price of $1.916.  Reaching up to an intraday high of $2.016, prices then fell $1.935 ahead of 11:00AM.  Trading within two cents of $1.955 for the balance of the session, June closed higher on Tuesday at $1.948.

As of 7:50AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $1.99; Natural Gas was down one cent; Heating Oil was up three cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
