Friday, August 31st saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures open at $2.912, nearly four cents above Thursday’s closing price of $2.874.  Posting gains early on as prices rose to the intraday high of $2.931 ahead of 10:30AM, such activity suggests short covering as weather for much of the northeast looks bearish in the short term.  Seesawing along $2.915 heading into the afternoon, October closed higher on Friday at $2.916.

The NYMEX was closed on Monday, September 3rd in observation of the Labor day holiday.

This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $1.45; Natural Gas was down six cents; Heating Oil up six cents; and, Gasoline was up five cents.
