Monday, August 1st saw the September NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $7.911, thirty-two cents below Friday’s closing price of $8.229. Recording the intraday low of $7.753 by 9:15AM, the contract chopped around $7.975 as weekend weather forecasts reduced the amount of expected cooling demand in the short term. Mounting a steady ascent soon thereafter, midday forecasts provided support. Marking the intraday high of $8.298 ahead of 2:30PM, September closed higher on Monday at $8.283.
As of 6:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 81 cents; Natural Gas was down 25 cents; Heating Oil was down nine cents; and Gasoline was down five cents.
