Friday, February 28th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.716, four cents below Thursday’s closing price of $1.752. Reaching up to an intraday high of $1.729 soon after markets opened, prices fell sharply in the morning hours as forecasts continue to turn bearish. Tallying a four-year intraday low of $1.675 at 11:10AM, the contract rose marginally to finish out the day. The April contract closed lower on Friday at $1.684, down 11% on the week.
As of 8:40AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 88 cents; Natural Gas was up three cents; Heating Oil was down slightly; and Gasoline was up one cent.
