Monday, March 2nd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.716, three cents above Friday’s closing price of $1.684. Jumping higher to start the day, following last week’s multi-year low, the contract rose to the $1.75 mark by 9:30AM and added a penny by midday. Despite bearish forecasts, April rose to an intraday high of $1.765 at 2:20PM, closing higher on Monday at $1.756.
As of 8:50AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $1.16; Natural Gas was up four cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
