On Tuesday, February 27th – the April NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts began trading as the prompt month. Opening at $2.652, three cents below Monday’s closing price of $2.686, traders moved quickly to recapture overnight losses. Surpassing the $2.68 mark by 11:00AM, below average short-term temperatures in the West and Central U.S. faced opposition from above average temperatures in the Northeast as the contract seesawed along the $2.69 mark into the afternoon. April closed slightly lower on Tuesday at $2.683.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was unchanged; Natural Gas was down one cent; Heating Oil was down slightly; and, Gasoline was down one cent.
