Monday, March 5th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.712, nearly two cents above Friday’s closing price of 2.695. After recovering from overnight trading that saw prices dip below $2.680, short-term demand fueled by below-average temperatures was offset by the fleeting heating season. Seesawing along $2.710 through midday, prices fell to the intraday low of $2.686 at 12:40PM though quickly recovered. April closed slightly higher on Monday at $2.704.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 52 cents; Natural Gas was up three cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and, Gasoline was up slightly.
