On Wednesday, March 27th – settlement day for the April contract – the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract opened at $2.705, nearly five cents below Tuesday’s closing price of $2.751. Sporadic trading saw the contract seesaw along either side of $2.690 throughout the day, and posted a climb from the intraday low of $2.671 at 12:40PM up to the intraday high of $2.722 at 2:00PM. The April contract ultimately settled lower on Wednesday at $2.713. Set to take up the front-month position this morning, the May contract closed three cents lower yesterday at $2.719.
As of 8:35AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down $1.13; Natural Gas was down two cents; Heating Oil was down four cents; and Gasoline was down five cents.
