August NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.251 on Friday, July 19th

Friday, July 19th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at 2.291, just above Thursday’s closing price of $2.287.  Peaking at the intraday high of $2.292 within minutes of the opening bell, traders were quick to resume the previous day’s sell off as strong production seemingly outweighed the impending heatwave.  Finding support along $2.250 by 10:30AM, the contract moved sideways into the afternoon as August closed lower on Friday at $2.251.

As of 9:00AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 72 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up one cent.
