Monday, July 23rd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.715, four cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.757. Knocked down by bearish weather expectations over the next two weeks, losses were limited by short covering. In what turned out to be an uneventful trading day, prices rose from the intraday low of $2.713 to the intraday high of $2.731 ahead of 9:20AM. Fluctuating within this range over the balance of the day, August closed lower on Monday at $2.721. Similarly, the more actively traded September contract closed roughly three cents lower at $2.695.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 35 cents; Natural Gas was up one cent; Heating Oil was up two cents; and, Gasoline was up one cent.
