Why Sprague Solar?

No Business Distruptions
Lightweight Thin-Film Panels
25-Year Production Warranty (86% Efficiency)
Designed for Extreme Conditions
No Business Disruptions

Lightweight, adhesive panels install quickly and safely without penetrating the roof or interrupting daily operations.

Lightweight Thin-Film Panels

Sprague’s thin-film technology minimizes structural load—ideal for older, metal, or low-capacity roofs where traditional solar would be too heavy.

25-Year Production Warranty (86% Efficiency for 25 Years)

Thin solar panels typically come with a robust 25-year production warranty, which speaks to their durability and long-term performance. This warranty often guarantees that the solar panels will maintain an efficiency of 86% or greater throughout the entire 25-year period.

Designed for Extreme Conditions

Built to withstand hurricane-force winds and harsh winter climates, our solar systems deliver reliable performance year-round.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will installing solar panels disrupt operations?

No. Sprague’s thin-film panels are designed for low-impact installation and operation. Panels adhere directly to the roof surface, eliminating the need for heavy racking or penetrations into the roof. Most projects can be completed without interfering with day-to-day activities.

How durable are Sprague’s solar panels in demanding environments?

Our panels are engineered for industrial and coastal settings and withstand hurricane-force winds, hail, and temperature extremes. Their flexibility and durability make them ideal for warehouses, factories, and other large facilities.

Can you walk on the panels or perform maintenance around them?

While the panels can support the weight of a person, Sprague recommends avoiding direct foot traffic whenever possible, as it can reduce long-term performance. We create designated walking paths to ensure that essential areas—such as vents, gauges, or other roof top units and maintenance access points—remain accessible for operations without impacting the system.

Can the panels be inspected or removed for maintenance?

Yes. System performance is monitored remotely through connected inverters and can be visually inspected on site. If replacement is needed, panels can be installed directly over existing ones or removed by softening the adhesive—no structural work required.

Can existing electrical infrastructure be used?

Often, yes. Existing conduit and supports can frequently be utilized to connect the solar system to your facility’s power distribution. Sprague’s engineers evaluate each roof to determine the safest, most efficient design.

How does snow or ice affect performance?

Sprague’s systems continue to operate through light to moderate snowfall. Because the panels absorb heat, they help snow melt more quickly compared to uncovered surfaces. Heavy snow may temporarily reduce production, but the production of the panels is estimated to take into account average historical snow coverage, and generation resumes automatically once the snow clears.

How long do the panels last?

Each system includes a 25-year performance warranty guaranteeing at least 86 percent efficiency. Inverters typically carry a 10-year warranty and may need to be replaced once or twice during the system’s lifetime. Properly maintained systems often exceed these benchmarks.

Can solar help extend the life of my roof?

Yes. Solar panels protect roof membranes from UV rays, moisture, and temperature swings, reducing wear and potentially extending roof lifespan. The non-penetrating design also prevents leak risks common with traditional mounting systems.

What kind of maintenance is required?

Maintenance is minimal—routine visual checks and occasional cleaning. Remote monitoring notifies Sprague or the system owner of any performance issues for prompt resolution
